In safeTALK you will learn how to reach out to someone thinking about suicide and help them keep safe by promptly connecting them to further support.
Your role as a connector is the main focus of this training, which features:
- Trainer presentations, facilitated discussion, and skills practice
- Videos that illustrate what happens when signs of suicide are overlooked, and how you can contribute to safe outcomes when these signs are heard and addressed
- Opportunities to further explore organizational applications of the training
- A community resource person will be on hand at the workshop to support your safety and comfort.

EVENT REGISTRATION CANCELLATION
To cancel registration for this event, email CEL@viu.ca. Note that cancellations may be made at any time; however, cancellations made on or after November 25, 2025 will not be eligible for a refund.
Event cancellations will be processed within 1 to 2 business days following receipt of the cancellation request email.
REFUNDS
Amounts of less than $15 are not eligible for refunds.
Registrants that cancel prior to the cancellation refund deadline date listed above can expect the refund to show in their account from 3 to 5 days following refund processing depending on your credit card providers policies and processes.
If you are eligible for a refund following the cancellation request, you will be notified by email once the refund process has been completed and an updated registration receipt showing the refund processing date and transaction ID will be attached to the email.
