VIU Career Fair - General / Part-Time Employment

Organized by the VIU Career Studio, in partnership with the VIU Alumni Association, this Career Fair will allow students and alumni from all VIU programs to connect with employers from a range of industries to learn about various employment and volunteer opportunities that students can work as they study, as well as to begin developing relationships with employers that might result in future co-ops, internships, or full-time employment opportunities.

VIU students and staff/faculty that would like to volunteer to assist with set-up and take-down for this event can register to do so here. Volunteers will be able to connect with VIU staff and faculty before this event, have an early opportunity to connect with employers before the event doors open, and will also be invited to a VIU Ice Cream Social after this event.

  • Acturis Canada: Science and Recent Grads 
  • Arbutus Financial: Students in the business management program, particularly financial services
  • BC Assessment: Business, Arts, Math, any students who will be graduating with a Bachelor degree
  • BC Ferries: Summer jobs for any student group but tourism and business would be beneficial as there are lots of career advancement opportunities.

  • Nanaimo Gymnastics School: Looking for students that work in child development and class management, knowledge of gymnastics is not required but can be helpfully but there is a lot of training courses and opportunities that are paid for by the gym once employed. 
  • Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (SD68): Interested in connecting with trades, Social Services and Child Youth and Family students
